The Hungarian energy market

Hungary relies on a network of infrastructures, which are relatively well developed, for the production and distribution of gas and electricity. The country produces 87% of its electricity and imports 79% of its gas requirement.
Industrial customers expect competitive prices, flexible and tailor-made solutions, as well as transparent pricing/packages and supply contract terms.

The market was entirely opened up to competition in 2009 for gas and in 2008 for electricity. In 2009 the company started to sell electricity for industrial and medium-large customers and has rapidly established a leading position in the gas supply market.
